"Garden in Old Town" was done in oil and wax at 30" x 48" using a palette knife. The artist put together this scene that represented Old Town San Diego to her . . . the California pepper tree, the giant bird of paradise, the old fountain, the blue and gold macaws, and, of course, the abundance of blooming flora. No, the blue and gold macaws do not fly wild there, but she became acquainted with them as several were housed in a gigantic cage in the complex where her studio/gallery was located for many years.
