California Tower

"California Tower" is an original 36x54 oil and wax painting done with a palette knife on a Belgium linen. The artist took many photos of the tower in Balboa Park before choosing this angle to paint. It has been standing since the Park's inception for the Panama Exposition in 1929. It has come to be the signature of San Diego as it can be viewed from many parts of the city.
